ASTM calls for test-method symposium papers Papers are needed for an ASTM International Symposium on Test Methods for Chemical and Mineralogical Analysis of Hydraulic Cements and Concrete-Making Materials. The symposium is sponsored by ASTM Committees C01 on Cement and C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates and will be held Dec. 4, 2007, in Tampa, Fla.
Since the 1988 publication of ASTM Special Technical Publication 985 on Rapid Methods for Chemical Analysis of Hydraulic Cements, new direct methods of analysis have become more common in research applications. New developments in analytical methods for chemical and mineralogical analysis of cements have resulted in the creation of new standard test methods and the revision of old methods, such as the standardization of XRF techniques for ASTM Standard C 114, Test Methods for Chemical Analysis of Hydraulic Cement. This symposium will discuss recent developments and advances in analysis methods.
The symposium will be held in conjunction with the Dec. 3-7 standards development meetings of Committees C01 and C09. www.astm.org
